Here are the steps that need to be followed to join the Ice Webring.
Fill out the below form to register your site. Your page will then added into the rings 'Queue'.
It will stay there until someone adds you to the ring. This does not mean that you are in the ring;
the actual insertion will come later.
First, copy the above fragment onto your page.
Be sure to copy both graphics, please don't link them that just adds strain to my server.
You will then recieve an email giving you the instructions on how to set up your page with the fragment.
Follow the steps closely so that you don't break the ring.
Pick a
random Reality Webring site and E-mail the owner of an existing ring page and ask them to add you
to the ring. Be sure to include your Site ID Number, and URL
in the e-mail message. They will then review your page to make sure it is worthy
of addition, and also make sure the Reality Webing HTML fragment on your page is
setup correctly.
After checking out your page, the Reality Webring site owner you mailed will
take your Site ID Number and use it to add you to the ring, or will just delete it from his e-mail box. You will
then receive an email telling you that you're in. If you don't revieve an email, then you need to do a little more work on your page, or try emailing someone else.
You're Done! You should now be able to navigate the entire ring until
to make it back to your own page. An easy
way to make sure it is working is to go to the homepage of the person who
added you and hit the next button. This should take you to your own page.
Once you are a member of the Reality Webring, you have the power to add other pages to the ring
as well. As a member you will be held to every site you add. Adding sites that do not adhear to the guidelines may result in your removal from the ring.
Type in their Site ID below and click Add.
If you get a blank page with the Reality Webring logo in the upper-righthand corner, then that person has
already been added to the ring.
Try to only add pages to the ring that you think are "worthy" of that honor. If the page sucks, don't add it.
If it is just links and Java and has no real content, don't add it. If you can tell that the pages creator didn't
labor long hard hours, while downing caffeine like there is no tomorrow, then it is probably not worthy.
Please remember, this is the "Reality" Webring, only the best can be part of it!
If someone asks to be added to the ring, have them make the necessary changes to their page, including all
of the changes to the HTML fragment above that are necessary (e-mail address, graphics,
site ID number, etc.) and check to see that they are correct before inserting them in the ring. Do not add a site that does not have the fragment up! This lowers the integrity of the ring, and makes me as the ringmaster look bad.
This will guarantee that the ring will correctly function immediately.
If for some sick reason you do add a site which doesn't follow the above guidelines, the site
will be deleted, and you risk being deleted yourself.
If you still don't get it, don't add pages that blow!!!
